A specialist in the supply of heavy truck and trailer components. Since 1985, we have been pushing the envelope in cutting edge technology for the South African transport industry.
We take pride in manufacturing our suspensions and our renowned BIG MAX® axle at our plant in Johannesburg, South Africa. We also import and stock a large variety of OEM products and reputable aftermarket parts for the SA domestic market as well as for our partners in the SADC region.
Our company was established in March 1985 as Transport Spares and Equipment. Operating from an intimate premises, as a fledgling business, TSE (as it was known then) sought to satisfy our clients with high quality products. Not much has changed in that aspect, but the family has grown over the years.
Around 2000, we created a wholesale division called Big Max Importers and Exporters.
In 2002 the Big Max Axles brand was created and production commenced in Johannesburg. Big Max quickly became known as a reliable, hard working axle brand due to our focus and dedication and no-nonsense approach to axle manufacture. Instrumental in the QA and development of our axles was the late Wolfgang Lehmann, a crucial figure in the SA transport industry who was known for his zero tolerance approach to quality.
The two divisions were amalgamated as TSE BIG MAX, to facilitate streamlining of operations, reach and growth.
Today, we are one of the largest suppliers of replacement trailer parts in South Africa. Many of our clients and suppliers have been with us since inception and have become part of the TSE BIG MAX family.
We opened our first three BIG MAX Express branch stores in Port Elizabeth, Newcastle and Namibia to enable us to provide better service to our clients around Southern Africa

We have been supplying truck and trailer replacement parts to businesses for almost 40 years, with distributors throughout the SADC region.
Over the years we have amassed experience in trailer parts, enabling us to provide unparalleled service and quality to each and every customer. This experience allows us to offer thousands of individual items in our product range. Being involved in the trucking industry is not all that we do, we also ensure that our customers are satisfied and that the highest standards and latest specs are maintained.
Our axle and suspension components are SABS and/or NRCS approved. MAX brand products are manufactured under strict supervision by dynamic and experienced experts in the field.
TSE BIG MAX is fully BBBEE certified, SABS approved, and is an accredited member of the RMI (Retail Motor Industry) organization undertaking to adhere to their code of conduct
